Working with a Travel Advisor, or Adventure Guide as we call them, is something that comes with a lot of questions. Here are a few of our most commonly asked questions about working with an Adventure Guide. We are here to set your mind at ease. How do Travel Advisors get paid? Will I be charged extra or will my accommodations have an extra fee?

We are paid by the resorts, cruise lines, and other suppliers. We do not charge a booking fee. Many resorts have prices set so that the cost to you is the same whether you book direct with the resort, through an online booking engine (Expedia, Priceline, etc), or through The Travel Adventure Team. The difference with using a Travel Advisor is that we help you plan a stress-free vacation without the hassle of trying to figure it out on your own.

Why should I book with you instead of an online booking site or direct with a resort or cruise line?

With us, you get exceptional personal assistance before, during, and after your Adventure. Budget is important and we strive to get your dream vacation within the budget you've set for it. There's no pressure to go above and beyond what you're comfortable with. You can't enjoy your vacation when you're stressed out about paying for it. We provide honest advice about all resorts, cruise lines, and destinations to help you choose the perfect one for you.

You also get our phone numbers to call and reach us if you need something while you are away. You won't get that from Expedia or others like them.

Will I pay more for a vacation if I book through you than an online booking site?

No. We have access to all the same pricing for resorts and cruises as the online booking sites and we can price-match online booking engine pricing when comparing apples to apples.

In many cases, we can find discounts and other promotional offerings that are not offered to the general public.

What important information should I have thought through before contacting you?

Ideally, you should set a budget or budget range and share it with us. That way we can give you realistic, fun, and memorable itinerary for the price you are comfortable with.

Do I have to pay upfront for my Adventure?

Most of the time no. The deposit requirements are set by the suppliers we book through. Deposit rates vary based on the package selected and the dates you are traveling. The deposit is paid to the supplier through The Travel Adventure Team. At no time does The Travel Adventure Team ever charge your credit/debit card. This way, you are assured that your deposit is applied directly to your Adventure at the time of booking.

Most packages require that you pay the balance between 90 or 45 days prior to your arrival. That payment is also made directly to the supplier as is any other payments made towards your Adventure.

I hear horror stories all the time about travel agencies that go out of business and people lost their trips... What guarantees do I have doing business with you?

Because you don't pay The Travel Adventure Team for your Advenutre, there is no risk of losing your Adventure booked through us. When making your reservations you provide us with your credit card information for booking to the suppliers (resorts, airlines, cruise lines, etc). They charge your card.

This way, you are assured that every payment you make towards your Adventure is applied directly to your reservation.
